Meet Dr. Smaranda Torres-Floca

Dr. Smaranda Torres-Floca brings nearly two decades of dentistry experience to Austin Avenue Dental. Originally from Romania, she graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest in 2002.
She later completed a highly competitive selection program for internationally trained dentists in Canada, earning admission to the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba, where she graduated in 2010.
Dr. Torres stays current with the latest techniques across cosmetic and restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and Invisalign — regularly taking continuing education courses to expand what she can offer patients. Her approach is personal: she takes the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and treats every visit as an opportunity to build trust, not just complete a procedure.
Fluent in English, French, Romanian, and Spanish, Dr. Torres is well-equipped to make patients from a range of backgrounds feel comfortable. She accepts new patients at our Coquitlam location, with CDCP coverage and direct billing available.
